I have over 20 years of experience in fine arts and am now integrating that into my coaching practice to foster deeper self-connection for my clients. I believe that art transcends language, facilitating a more somatic understanding of emotions and values.
Recently, I experimented with using colour to help a client identify their core values through completing a colour wheel, exploring different tonalities and their personal significance. This exercise was enjoyable for my client, they saw a deeper need for daily connection to their values, via this experience. However as I look back, knowing what I now know, I sense that my approach was too cerebral.
To enhance my method, I am now focusing on grounding and engaging more instinctively with colours, allowing for a more embodied experience. I find this exploration exciting and hope to support others in using somatic art as a means of connecting more deeply with themselves. My journey reflects a shift towards a more intuitive and playful interaction with art in my coaching.
